According to UNESCO news, the 4th Global Youth Zero-Carbon Future summit was successfully Held in Beijing, empowering youth science, technology, and innovation climate action, and empowering youth representatives to speak out for a zero-carbon future. The 4th Global Youth Summit on Zero Carbon Future (hereinafter referred to as “the Summit”) was successfully held on September 12-14, 2024 at Tsinghua University in Beijing. The Summit was co-organized by the UNESCO Regional Office for East Asia, Tsinghua University and the Global Alliance for Climate Universities (GAUC), and hosted by the Tsinghua University Zero Carbon Youth Association. The summit aims to utilize youth wisdom to promote climate action and build a platform for youth to fully express their views and propose innovative solutions. The summit was divided into two sections, Youth Dialogue and Online Innovative Project Seminar, which attracted the participation of more than 400 youth representatives and experts from 26 countries, and about 270,000 viewers participated in the activities online.
On September 12, 2024, the 4th Global Youth Zero Carbon Future Summit opened at Tsinghua University Experimental Theatre. Expert representatives from UNESCO, Tsinghua University, the World Bank Group, the Asian Development Bank, the Energy Research Institute of the China Academy of Macroeconomic Research, the Technical University of Munich, the Mercedes-Benz Starwish Foundation and the China Youth Development Foundation attended the opening ceremony.
